Roles & Responsibilities:
● Raise Purchase Requisitions (PRs) for mechanical components required by R&D, Production and
other internal stakeholders, including sheet metal, machined parts, powder coating, and other
mechanical processes
● Convert approved PRs into Purchase Orders (POs) with correct drawings/specifications, pricing,
and delivery timelines for sheet metal fabrication, machining, powder coating, and other
mechanical job-work
● Release POs to suppliers and proactively track and expedite orders to ensure timely delivery of
sheet metal, machined parts, and powder-coated parts as per project timelines
● Identify, evaluate, and onboard new vendors for sheet metal fabrication (laser cutting, bending,
welding), CNC/VMC machining, powder coating, and other mechanical processes; complete
vendor registration and documentation in the system
● Source suppliers as per drawings/specifications (tolerances, surface finish, coating requirements)
shared by requesters, and review technical requirements with vendors prior to order placement
● Obtain order acknowledgements and ensure on-time delivery of mechanical parts at Unbox
Robotics by closely following up with sheet metal, machining, and powder coating vendors
● Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and lead times with sheet metal, machining, and powder
coating vendors to optimize cost without compromising on quality
● Resolve issues arising during GRN/material receipt of mechanical components in SAP
● Manage rejected/non-conforming material disposition with suppliers, including coordination on
rework, replacement, or returns for sheet metal, machined, and powder-coated parts
● Coordinate with the finance team for timely payments to mechanical component suppliers
● Work with the logistics team to arrange shipments from domestic sheet metal, machining, and
powder coating suppliers, and provide the required documentation
● Daily monitoring of POs released and their ETAs across sheet metal, machining, and powder
coating suppliers to plan production/development activities without delays
● Coordinate with the quality team on incoming inspection of sheet metal, machined, and powder-
coated parts, and drive alternate vendor development for critical mechanical processes to
mitigate supply risk
Requirements:
● Good Interpersonal and communication skills.
● Knowledge of MS excel
● Excellent knowledge of ordering mechanical components, preferably sheet metal, machining
parts, and powder coating/surface finishing processes
● Good Analytical Skills.
● Good Negotiation skills
Good to Have:
● Fluent in multiple languages - Marathi, Hindi, English
● Candidate having experience in procurement of mechanical manufacturing processes (sheet
metal, machining, powder coating) in an OEM environment
Eligible candidates:
● Desired Qualification: Diploma/ B.E. degree in Mechanical & Production.
● Work Experience: Candidate with 2-4 years of experience.
