About Unbox Robotics

Unbox Robotics builds the world’s most compact, AI-powered mobile robotic sorting and order consolidation systems for warehouses and distribution centers — installing 10X faster, saving 50%+ space, and delivering 3X productivity gains. Backed by marquee investors, we’re scaling our Solutioning team with strong hardware and domain expertise.

The Role

We are seeking a high-ownership Product Manager to own the complete software surface of our robotics platform — spanning the core robot software stack, fleet management across the sorting systems, AMRs, customer integration pipelines, and the operator-facing UI applications used on the warehouse floor every day. You will be the single owner of the software experience, from intelligence running on each robot to the dashboard a warehouse manager opens every morning.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Robot Software
  • Own the product roadmap for on-robot software: task execution, navigation APIs, fault recovery workflows, and firmware interface contracts.
  • Define acceptance criteria and simulation test suites for robot software releases; monitor live fleet telemetry to surface regressions and prioritise fixes.
  • Specify versioned, backward-compatible API contracts between the robot stack, fleet orchestration layer, and WCS.
  1. Fleet Management
  • Own the Fleet Management System (FMS) roadmap: real-time task allocation, multi-robot traffic management, zone-based routing, and throughput optimisation across heterogeneous fleets.
  • Drive fleet health features — battery management, predictive maintenance alerts, automated rebalancing — and define KPIs: utilisation rate, cycle time, deadlock frequency, and MTTR.
  • Own fleet provisioning UX: robot registration, map management, zone configuration, and operational parameter tuning.
  1. Customer Integration
  • Own the integration product roadmap: REST/webhook APIs, WMS connectors (SAP EWM, Manhattan, Blue Yonder, Oracle), ERP integrations, and EDI support.
  • Define data contracts for order ingestion, sort-to-destination logic, and fulfilment callbacks; set SLAs for API uptime, message latency, and retry policies.
  • Build and maintain an Integration Playbook — API references, sandbox environments, and code samples — to reduce customer time-to-live; productise repeatable connectors into self-serve modules.
  1. UI Applications & Operator Experience
  • Own the roadmap for all operator-facing UIs: Fleet Dashboard, Warehouse Control Console, sorting configuration UI, and mobile floor apps.
  • Lead user research with warehouse managers and floor staff; define UX requirements and work with Design to produce wireframes and prototypes.
  • Drive design system strategy — component reuse, visual consistency, and WCAG 2.1 accessibility across all Unbox UI surfaces.
  1. Execution & GTM
  • Partner with Software, Backend, Frontend, and QA squads for sprint delivery; own stage-gate reviews from alpha through GA and post-launch retrospectives.
  • Co-own GTM with Sales: release notes, demo environments, capability matrices, ROI models, and software packaging/pricing frameworks.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years in Product Management; 2+ years owning software in robotics, industrial automation, IoT, or enterprise SaaS
  • Proven experience across 2+ of the four product areas: robot software, fleet management, integration products, or operator UI
  • Strong grasp of agile delivery, API design, release management, and production observability
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python notebooks, or BI tools for metrics and business case development
  • Ability to write sharp PRDs, API contracts, and user stories; comfortable working with software, backend, and frontend engineers
  • UX research skills user interviews, usability testing, journey mapping with hands-on experience collaborating with product designers
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management across engineering, customer success, sales, and leadership
  • Data-driven mindset; comfortable defining and tracking product KPIs end-to-end

Good to Have

  • Familiarity with WMS/WCS platforms and warehouse order fulfilment workflows
  • Experience with fleet management platforms for AMRs or AGVs
  • Exposure to API integration ecosystems — REST, webhooks, event-driven architectures (Kafka)
  • Knowledge of cloud-native architectures, microservices, and edge compute for robot fleets
  • Experience with design systems and WCAG accessibility for industrial UIs
  • Prior experience in a high-growth startup or Series A–C environment

Qualification

  • B.Tech / B.E. in Computer Science, Electronics, Robotics, or related discipline (required)
  • MBA or M.Tech in Product / Systems Engineering (preferred, not mandatory)

We Value

  • Bias for action and ownership mentality in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Portfolio of software products shipped 0→1 or scaled in industrial, logistics, or robotics context
  • Ownership mentality you close loops, not just open them
  • Systems thinking across robot behaviour, fleet coordination, and operator experience
  • Empathy for warehouse operators; comfort translating floor observations into elegant software
